The Roanoke Region

The Roanoke Valley of Virginia includes the cities of Roanoke and Salem, the town of Vinton, the counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, Franklin, Bedford, Floyd and Craig, and the beautiful area known as Smith Mountain Lake. We are located at the southern end of the historic Shenandoah Valley and we are accessible to travelers via Interstate 81 and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Often cited in publications and various surveys as one of the best places in the United States to raise a family, the greater Roanoke Valley offers a prosperous economy, outstanding schools and friendly neighborhoods surrounded by some of the nation's most beautiful scenery.
